Mission Statement
-
Playing sports can promote a healthy lifestyle and teach kids transferrable skills that they use far into adult life. Being on a team teaches kids valuable social skills. They learn how to share, value diverse skillsets, trust others, and support and encourage one another. Forney ISD is dedicated to developing a well-rounded youth sports program that anyone can join. As we begin this undertaking, there will be a limit on the grade levels and number of spaces available, but we have plans to continue to grow this program to include additional students each year. We will also continually add sports to the program as long as we find a need in the community to offer those sports.
Starting in the Spring of 2024 at The Kieth Bell Opportunity Central, Forney ISD will be running a youth volleyball league for 3rd-8th grade. All games and practices will be scheduled at The OC and all students will attend an evaluation night prior to being placed on teams. This is in an effort to follow UIL policy and also ensure measures such as equitability among the teams, fair play and equal playing time. For more information, you can view the links below that include a coaches handbook, a rule book for each sport and more!
All questions can be directed to Jake Walker.
