  • Good evening Forney Family Parents & Guardians,

We hope everyone is getting their green ready for St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow.  Please share your pics wearing green with us on social media using #ForneyFamily.  Tomorrow is also our monthly Future-Ready Day, so we encourage everyone to wear your college and career shirt either at home or in your community. We want to continue normalcy as much as possible for our students.

If you missed our Facebook live today, click here to view.

As a reminder, all district facilities are closed to the public. Students should not come to school.  We have a lot of information to share this evening, and we will continue to provide daily updates. If your questions aren’t answered below, please bear with us, as we continue to share information.

    STAAR Testing Waived

Forney ISD joined districts across Texas asking the state to waive all STAAR/EOC testing for students due to the challenges school districts face due to the Coronavirus. We are happy to share that Gov. Abbott announced this morning he was waiving tests.

Virtual Learning Site Launches Wednesday -

We’ll share updates via email, text message, phone call, mobile app and through our social media.  Starting Tuesday, teachers and campus staff will begin reaching out to parents and students to open lines of communication and get the virtual learning process started.  They will help explain what the virtual learning process looks like for your individual student.

Technology Plan - Wi-Fi, Resource Hubs, Technology Hotline Coming Soon

For those needing wi-fi access at home, many companies are offering free service for 60 days (AT&T, Spectrum, Comcast, etc.).  There is also drive-through Wi-Fi access behind Smith and Rhea Intermediates. You can pull through by the awning at the back of the campus, and remain in your car to download information daily for offline work at home.

If you have a 4th grade student that did not bring home a Chromebook, your campus will be reaching out to you with information on pick-up from your home campus.

If your student left a Chromebook or other item over the break on any campus, you may call the campus starting Wednesday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Campus staff will do their best to locate, and arrange a time for you to pick-up.  Please do not leave your car. Campus staff will bring the item to you.

We’ll also be adding a technology hotline for support of student virtual learning soon later this week.

If your student left medication in the nurse’s campus clinic that they are needing, your campus nurse will be reaching out to you to arrange pick-up. You may also call the campus starting Wednesday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. to arrange pick-up.
