Attendance Zones

24-25 Approved Attendance Zone Modification Plan

With the opening of Wilson Elementary, Themer Middle School, a new Warren Middle school, and the re-opening of the old Warren campus as Jones Intermediate, the annual attendance zone modification draft plan was presented to the Forney ISD Board of Trustees meeting on Thursday, Nov. 9. After receiving feedback from the public, and making a few adjustments, the board adopted the final attendance zone modification plan for fall 2024 at their December 4, 2023 meeting.

Links to the adopted attendance zones for Fall 2024 can be found here: www.forneyisd.net/about-us/attendance-zones. For definitive attendance information, please use the school/bus route finder  to determine your zoned schools based upon your address.

The district has 4 separate zoning maps that are independent of each other: (1) elementary, (2) intermediate, (3) middle, and (4) high school.  High School attendance zone boundaries will not change.

All current 8th-11th grade students will remain in their current feeder patterns, and will not be impacted by the proposed attendance zone modification.

For Kindergarten through 4th grade, Willett, Johnson, and Claybon Elementaries will remain in their current zones.

The Advanced Academics and Fine Arts Academy (AAFAA) will remain at Blackburn Elementary and Smith Intermediate.

The plan proposes that the Pre-Kindergarten through 4th grade Dual Language program moves to the new Wilson Elementary. The 5th and 6th grade Dual Language program will move to Clay Jones Intermediate, and 7th and 8th grade Dual Language program will move to the new Warren Middle School.

Jones Intermediate will feed to the new Warren Middle School and Forney High School. Rhea Intermediate will feed to the new Themer Middle School and Forney High School. Rhodes Intermediate will feed to Jackson Middle School and North Forney High School. Smith Intermediate will feed to Brown Middle School and North Forney High School.

More information regarding the transfer request process, voting on the new school mascots, and participating in the new PTOs will be sent in January to impacted families.
