Forney ISD uses ParentSquare for school communication, primarily with email, text and app notifications. ParentSquare automatically generates an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

Here’s what you can do with ParentSquare:

  • Receive messages from the school via email, text or app notification 

  • Choose to receive information as it comes or all at once with a daily digest at 6pm 

  • Communicate in your preferred language

  • Comment on school postings to engage with your school community

  • Direct message teachers, staff and other parents

  • Participate in group messages

  • Sign up for parent-teacher conferences

  • Send payments, sign forms & permission slips, receive report cards, sign up to volunteer and more all from your desktop or mobile device

Manage Your Notifications

ParentSquare allows families to choose how and when they receive routine school and district communication. Adjusting your notification preferences can help reduce the number of alerts you receive while still keeping you informed about important updates from Forney ISD and your student’s campus. For most families, we recommend selecting Digest for routine email, text, and app notifications. Digest combines ParentSquare posts into one daily summary instead of sending a separate alert each time a message is published. Families who prefer to get updates the moment they are posted may continue using the Instant setting.

Important safety messages, emergency alerts, and certain time-sensitive communications will always be delivered immediately.

Choose When and How You Receive Messages

Instant

Receive a notification every time a ParentSquare message is sent. This option is best for families who want real-time updates throughout the day.

Digest

Receive routine ParentSquare messages grouped together in one daily summary. This option is best for families who want to stay updated while minimizing daily alerts.

Off

Disable routine notifications for the selected communication channel. All messages remain accessible anytime you log in to the ParentSquare app or web portal.

Change Your Settings

You can manage email, text, and mobile app notifications separately. You may also be able to select different preferences for each school connected to your ParentSquare account.

Using the ParentSquare App

  1. Open the ParentSquare app.
  2. Select the menu icon.
  3. Select Account.
  4. Select Notifications.
  5. Review each school connected to your account.
  6. Choose your preferred setting for email, text and app notifications.
  7. Select Instant, Digest or Off where available.

 

Using the ParentSquare Website

  1. Sign in to ParentSquare.
  2. Select your name in the upper right corner.
  3. Select My Account.
  4. Select Notification Settings.
  5. Review each school connected to your account.
  6. Choose your preferred setting for email, text and app notifications.
  7. Select Instant, Digest or Off where available.
