Program Entrance

Entrance into the Program

Grade K

  • Emergent Bilinguals (EBs) – If a student is identified as EB per state-mandated criteria with Spanish as part of the home language survey, his/her first program option is Dual Language after the LPAC recommends program placement. EBs have the highest priority for placement in our dual language academy. The LPAC committee must consider all student data and background in order to determine the best program placement for each child.
  • Non-Emergent Bilingual (non-EB) Dual Language Transfers – Native English Speakers who were participating in an out-of-the-district dual language program will be considered for placement in the academy after the language committee reviews pertinent information AND if space is available. The district may conduct language assessments along with DRA and EDL to determine reading levels in English and Spanish as needed.

  • Incoming native English speaking Kindergarten students – Information is available under the "Admission Process section".

  • Important: All incoming non-EB admitted candidates must have Kindergarten enrollment completed in Skyward by May 1. Otherwise, the spot will be given to the next person in the waiting list.
