Student Job Opportunities
Important Information
The application will open on December 1, 2025. Appicants interested in Spring or Summer employment should apply at that time. We are currently looking for staff to fill the following positions:
Spring:
Youth Basketball Officials - Application closes Jan 2
Summer:
STEAM Camp Counselors - Application closes Feb 13
Engage Office General information
- Flexible work hours including nights and weekends.
- The ability to create your own schedule based on your availability.
- All positions are paid at $14 per hour (STEAM Camp is paid per camp worked).
- Opportunities for leadership positions.
- Students that work for the Engage office during the school year are the first students considered to work STEAM Camps during the summer.
- Training in all positions including, sport officials training, policies and procedures for events, emergency response and more.
- Students can apply to work in one or all areas of the Engage office based on their availability and their experience.
When employment decisions are made, attendance, grades and discipline are taken into consideration. All applicants have four rounds in the application process in order to receive a job offer:
1. Applicants that complete all required steps from round 1 will move to round 2.
2. In round 2, applicants will be asked to fill out additional information by a set date and applicants attendance, grades and discipline will be reviewed. Top qualifying applicants will move to the third round
3. In round 3, applicants will be invited to an in person meeting. This meeting will included discussing practical knowledge and experience. Final hiring decisions will be made within one week of this meeting.
4. The final step is filling out paperwork for HR. All deadlines must be met in order to be eligible for hiring. If a deadline is not met, applicants will be removed from the process.
Job Descriptions
Minimum Job Criteria
- Good behavioral standing - "Ongoing"
- Fewer than 5 Unexcused Absences - "Ongoing"
- 4 Tardies equals one unexcused absence
- GPA of 2.5 or higher - "Ongoing"
- Must be currently enrolled in FISD (exception for summer employment)
- Must have a reference on file
- Your reference will be emailed a reference form after you complete your application. As stated on the application this should be a current or former teacher/school admin/coach etc. This person should not be a family member.
- Must be at least 15 years of age at the time of hiring
