Office of Engagement Application

Scoreboard Operator

  • Check in all participants for all district intramural sports events and for facility reservations (if needed)
  • Assist with event setup and tear down
  • Responsible for operating scoreboard for district intramural sport events and facility reservations
  • Responsible for keeping score using a scoresheet or other method
  • Will report to the Student Event Supervisor for each respective event
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Student Assistant

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants
  • Responsible for enforcing the established rules and regulations for each sport or program offered
  • This may include officiating sports. If officiating is required, additional paid training will be provided
  • Must attend all required training prior to the beginning of respective season/event worked
  • Assists with event setup and tear down
  • Will report to the Student Event Supervisor for each respective event
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Student Supervisor

  • Maintains a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants
  • Appropriately enforces the established rules and regulations for each program offered
  • Coordinates assignments to student scoreboard operators, student assistants, or other workers/volunteers
  • Ensures that participants and groups are using facility spaces appropriately and only using reserved spaces
  • Evaluates other staff members on site to maximize development and task completion
  • Completes any required paperwork and documentation for any shift worked
  • Reports any concerns to supervisors
  • Maintains confidentiality as appropriate
  • Abides by applicable policies, rules, and laws
  • Performs other duties as assigned
     

Summer Employment

Steam Camp Student Worker - $180 per camp session*

  • Monitor and supervise students throughout the camp session
  • Assist camp instructor with prepping supplies, giving instructions and overall classroom management
  • Engage with students across a variety of grade levels from 1st-12th grade
  • Assist with escorting students to classrooms, lunch, breaks, etc
  • Assist with drop off and pick up from camp
  • Performing other duties as assigned

*Students may earn additional pay by staying during the camp break to watch students.

All current Forney ISD high school students in good disciplinary, attendance and academic standing are eligible to work for the FISD Office of Engagement in a variety of roles. Roles vary from scoreboard operators to student supervisors and range in pay from $10-$15 per hour with a flexible schedule. Priority is given to students who have completed one year of high school.
