LEague Information

Recreational Leagues

All students are asked to attend a short evaluation night (Dates & Locations listed above). These evaluations are short drills that will helps us divide the skill level equitably amongst all the teams. Siblings or family members may be placed on the same team. In order to accomplish this, please provide that information during registration. Uniforms will be handed out on the day of the first game. Each student will receive a green and white OC uniform. The home team will wear the white jersey and the away team will wear the green jersey. In addition, all students will have minimum play time requirements. If a player is present at a game they must receive the minimum play time unless notice is given (in writing) 24 hours in advance to the Office of Engagement and the players parents. Minimum play time can only be revoked for certain reasons such as injury, illness, parent request, or certain behavioral issues.

Any player that has registered and paid will have a team in either the open or recreational divisions. For the recreational divisions, I will form those teams after the open teams have finalized rosters. I will use the evaluation scores to create the teams. Team announcements will be made on Wednesday after the evaluations and rosters will finalize the second Friday after the evaluations.

General Information

Players will have one scheduled practice each week and a game each Saturday. Practices will be held on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. You are able to choose your practice day preference during the registration process. All practices and games will be scheduled at one of the Forney ISD schools. Coaches will communicate the practice and game schedule once your student has been placed on a team. There will be 7 games per season. Practices and games will not take place during weeks or days in which there is no school. For example, there will be no practices or games during Spring Break. Game dates and practice dates are listed above

At the end of the season, the top teams from each division will compete in a single day tournament to determine a league champion. The league champions and runners up will receive awards. When possible, all teams will be placed into the championship day bracket.

1st & 2nd grade games will have one student official and one score keeper. 3rd-6th grade games will have one certified official, one student official, and a score keeper. The student officials will be students from North Forney or Forney High School and will have gone through National Federation of High Schools official's training to be prepared for the league. The score keeper will help with court setup, tear down, water jug refills, basic first aid and help answer parent questions.
