Federal Programs
The Federal Programs office manages essential resources provided by the U.S. government, primarily authorized through the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), to enhance and supplement the core educational services in our district. Our fundamental purpose is to ensure equitable opportunities for all students, with a specific focus on closing the achievement gap for low-income students and other historically underserved populations. We serve as the primary link between federal regulations and our school campuses, ensuring that all funds are spent ethically and in full compliance with all requirements.
These federal investments are strategically used to provide targeted, high-impact support across the district. This funding allows us to implement crucial programs that we could not offer otherwise, including providing additional teachers and instructional coaches for small-group academic intervention in high-need schools; funding high-quality professional development to enhance teacher effectiveness; supporting the rapid academic and language acquisition for our English Learners (Emerging Bilingual students); and investing in programs that promote safe schools, student mental wellness, and well-rounded educational resources for all.
