Fine Arts

Forney ISD offers one of the most advanced fine arts programs in the North Texas region. 

FISD choirs regularly achieve Superior ratings at University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions and festivals.

The district's theatre department is regarded as one of the top programs in the area, having been named finalists at UIL One Act Play competitions at the district, region, and state levels. The department has been recognized as a TxETA Exemplary District, a Texas Thespians Premier Community for Theatre Education, and an EdTA Premier Community for Theatre Education.

Dance students are among the most talented and distinguished in the region, with performance experience at the Orange Bowl and Disney World in Florida. They have also secured consecutive NDA Championships and consistently receive the highest of awards at state dance competitions.

Visual Arts students participate in art exhibits and shows across the region, with many receiving regional, state, and national recognition through their participation in Visual Arts Scholastic Events (VASE). The visual arts program consistently organizes approximately five district contests annually and has been awarded the TAEA District of Distinction honor.

Forney ISD bands regularly earn superior ratings at UIL Marching, Concert, and Sight-Reading contests. The bands have been finalists for the State Honor Band in the region and have performed at the State Marching Contest. Several choir students in Forney ISD have been selected for State Choirs. Additionally, Forney ISD has been recognized as one of the Best Communities for Music Education.
