If you believe your family may qualify for free or reduced meals, we encourage you to fill out an application as soon as possible.
Your student(s) breakfast and lunch periods are an important part of every school day. Here are a few important reminders:

Families must apply (or reapply) each year to determine if you qualify for the free and reduced lunch program. If you need to apply for the 2024-2025 school year, please do so in Skyward. Instructions are provided here. Meal applications do not transfer from district to district.

If a student has insufficient funds to pay for their meal, FISD offers students a short grace period. To review this policy, click here. After that threshold has been met, the student will be provided an alternate meal until the account can be paid. To review this policy, click here.

Meal applications in Texas do not transfer from district to district. The USDA requires that a new application be completed when a student moves into a new district. Can transfer students use the same application from another school district? NO. USDA requires that a new application be completed when a student moves into a new district.
Paper applications must be submitted with original signatures. Faxes/emails or copies of the application cannot be accepted.
We highly encourage applying online on your Skyward Account for faster processing. You are able to use any device to complete.
***Students will stay the same as they were last school year until September 25, 2024. Students with no application on file will return to full-paid eligibility status effective September 26, 2024.

The Forney ISD Child Nutrition Department is responsible for preparing and serving breakfast and lunch to all students in the district on a daily basis.
If you would like to add restrictions, limit or modify a student's account please send your request with students name and campus to Tracy Childress at tlchildres@forneyisd.net

Due to ongoing nationwide supply shortages, menus might change at very short notice - possibly day to day. We try our best to serve the menus posted on the website, however, sometimes circumstances beyond our control require us to make changes.
Please be aware that the Child Nutrition Department makes every effort to provide accurate nutrient information and allergen-containing ingredient information, however, we are not able to guarantee the information is 100% accurate.
Please contact your campus nurse for special diet accommodations.

“I (parent) certify (promise) that all information on this application is true and that all income is reported. I understand that this information is given in connection with the receipt of Federal funds, and that school officials may verify (check) the information. I am aware that if I purposely give false information, my children may lose meal benefits, and I may be prosecuted under applicable State and Federal laws.”

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form which can be obtained online at: https://www.usda.gov/sites/default/files/documents/USDA-OASCR%20P-Complaint-Form-0508-0002-508-11-28-17Fax2Mail.pdf, from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
