Level of Commitment

The Dual Credit Advantage Program is broken down into three levels of commitment. We ask our students/parents to choose one of the levels as they start thinking about taking dual credit courses. The number of total courses/credit hours is calculated over the student's high school career. Dual Credit courses are one - two class periods, and usually Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday. We recommend that students take a minimum of 2 Dual Credit courses a semester.

Dual Credit Costs

As part of our agreement with Dallas College, students will receive FREE in-district tuition for classes that are taken as concurrent dual credit classes. Students will need to purchase their own instructional materials for the course (i.e. textbooks, lab materials, etc.) A dual credit concurrent course must be part of the student's schedule, and taken in the traditional 16-week format (with the exception of certain Dual Credit CTE courses).

If a student chooses to take classes outside of the school day through Dallas College, they will receive the in-district tuition rate of $59 per credit hour. Students taking PHED 1164 will be required to pay the $59, regardless of whether they take it inside of the school day. If a student chooses to take a class in a shorter format (i.e. Harvesterm, Maymester, Summer sessions) they will be required to pay the in-district tuition rate and these classes will NOT count towards their school GPA.
