Substitute Pay Rates

Substitute teacher and nurse pay is based on educational achievement as shown below.  Substitute pay for aide positions is based on the position itself and is not based on the individual substitute’s credentials.

Aides

Regular Education or Nurse Aide---$85.00 / day

Special Education Aide---$90.00 / day

Long Term Aide---$85.00 / day (see below)

Teacher

High School Graduate---$90.00 / day

Associate’s Degree---$90.00 / day

Bachelor’s Degree---$100.00 / day

Master’s Degree---$100.00 / day

Current Texas Certified Teacher---$105.00 / day

Long Term Teacher---$35 above the normal rate for credential attained

Last Minute Substitute Team

$20 above the normal rate for credential attained

(The Last Minute Substitute Team differential is not paid for long term assignments.)

Nurses

Nurse-LVN/EMT---$90.00 / day ($100 for long term)

Nurse-RN---$175.00 /day ($200 for long term)

Library Services

Library Services---$90.00/day

Long Term Library Services---$110/day

“Long term” means beginning with the 11th consecutive day for the same individual. Differentiated pay for long term assignments begins on the 11th day and is not adjusted to the initial day of the assignment.
