Student Enrollment

If you are enrolling your child for Pre-K, please do not submit a Skyward application until you are notified that your child has qualified for PreK. Click here to fill out the PreK application.

• A student must be five years of age or older on or before September 1 of the school year to attend Kindergarten. 
• A child may be enrolled in the first grade if he or she is at least six years of age at the beginning of the current school year or has been enrolled in the first grade, or completed kindergarten, in the public schools of another state prior to transferring to the District or must qualify under other special provisions of the law.
• If a student wants to enter first grade prior to their 6th birthday, they may take the kindergarten acceleration test to see if they may be placed in the first grade. This test is administered in the spring for young people who already reside in the district and are seeking a placement for the upcoming school year. 
• If a student moves into the district in the summer or early fall, they may enter kindergarten and then take the test in the fall and be placed into the first grade accordingly based on the outcome of the test. 

Online enrollment for kindergarten students who will be new to Forney ISD for the 2025-2026 school year is open.  Within the online application, you will have the opportunity to upload the required enrollment documents. Pease upload the required documents to the online application to process your enrollment efficiently. 

• An enrollment clerk will contact you to confirm and/or request additional documents and finalize your student's enrollment.  

• Texas state law requires a child to be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten.  

• Pre-K students currently enrolled and attending the Early Childhood Center do not need to re-enroll for kindergarten.

2024-2025 Kindergarten - 12th Grade Enrollment

IMPORTANT NOTE: If your student was previously enrolled in Forney ISD, please complete the process for Currently Registered Students. DO NOT CREATE A NEW STUDENT ONLINE ENROLLMENT ACCOUNT!

Online enrollment applications are available for new students of all grade levels. To begin the enrollment application process for your student, please complete steps 1 and 2 here. To expedite your student’s enrollment, please upload the required documents listed in STEP 2 within the New Student Online Enrollment application.  

For students PK-4, the enrollment clerk will determine which form is needed and will contact the parents to set up a date and time to complete the forms for enrollment.

For students 5-12, please contact the campus office to determine which form is needed and to schedule an appointment date and time to complete these forms at the campus.

All returning Forney ISD students are required to register and provide residency verification documents every year. Students in grades 5th-12th are asked to pay a $30 Technology Usage Fee each year.  

Parents of returning students must log into their parent Skyward account when the Returning Student Verification opens to complete registration for the 2024-2025 school year. A utility bill and one other proof of residency (current mortgage statement, settlement/disclosure statement, or a current lease) should be scanned and uploaded in the 'Required Documents' section of the Skyward registration on-line form.​ 

In addition, the Technology Usage Fee must be paid in order to have full technology use.  If you are unable to upload current residency docs or pay the technology fee online, please go to your child's campus to provide your utility bill and pay the technology fee.

To register your student, log into your parent Skyward account.

1. Click on your child's name.

2. Click on the registration link.

3. Complete the registration form.

4. To pay the technology fee, click on the Fee management link on the left side of the page

5. Click on the Technology fee link and you will be redirected to Revtrack to pay.

If you have more than one student, you will need to repeat the process for each student. 

Registration/Residency Verification must be completed NO LATER THAN AUGUST. Failure to complete reverification may result in a delay in class schedule distribution. 

Important Note: If you have moved within the district and the address is different that what is currently listed in Skyward, please contact your students' current campus and provide them with your new proof of residence. The PEIMS Clerk or registrar will make the address change in Skyward and and any campus change, if applicable. Acceptable documents for proof of residence include:

• Closing Statement or Mortgage Statement
• Lease Agreement and Current Utility Bill
• Drivers License with New Address
