Student Enrollment

2025-2026 Kinder - 12th Grade Enrollment - NOW open!

Online enrollment applications are available for new students of all grade levels. To begin the enrollment application process for your student in Skyward, follow the steps below.

1. Click here to create a Skyward account.
   Skyward is Forney ISD's official Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) where student information can be located.
2. You will receive an email from Forney ISD with your temporary password. To login, enter your email and temporary password. You will be prompted to create a new password.
3. Once you have logged in, click on the link to complete the New Student Online Enrollment Application on the left tab.
4. Fill out the application. (Be sure to use your child's full legal name.)
5. Upload the required documents. For a list of required documents, see below. Documents can be uploaded directly into the enrollment application. Documents must be uploaded as PDF files.
6. Required Documents:
   • Withdrawal Form or Final Report Card from previous school (if applicable) *
   • Transcript from previous school (REQUIRED-high school only) *
   • Birth Certificate *
   • Social Security Card *
   • Immunization Record (view the state vaccination requirements) *
   • Parent/Guardian Driver's License with Forney Address
   • Proof of Residence (Acceptable documents for proof of residence include: Closing Statement or Current Mortgage Statement, Full Lease Agreement and Current Utility Bill, Drivers License with New Address)
     • Additional documents may be required including a Bona Fide Residence Affidavit or Power or Attorney. These documents may be obtained through your enrollment clerk or registrar.
   • (*These documents must be provided by the parent/guardian enrolling the student. The school district will not request these items from the previous school for the enrollment application.)
7. NOTE: BE SURE TO Click “SUBMIT” on your application for each student. (All documents must be received for enrollment to be complete).
8. Pay the annual Technology Fee of $30 for each student.

Helpful Tip: Skyward allows parents to view their student’s basic information such as address and phone number and emergency contact information. Student’s assignments, grades and report cards and more:

• Student info: View a student's basic information, such as their address and phone number 
• Academic history: View a student's grades and report cards for each year 
• Emergency information: View emergency information for a student 

Grades and assignments 

• Gradebook: View a student's grades for each class, and modify how they are displayed
• Assignments: View a student's assignments for each class

Attendance

• Attendance: View a student's attendance records, including absences and tardies 
• Schedules: View a student's schedule, including the teachers and courses they are taking 
• Lunch accounts: View a student's lunch account balance, daily purchases, and payments made 
• Fee management: View a student's school registration fees, balances, and make payments such as the annual technology fee.

After the district has verified all documents and information, you will receive a confirmation email that registration has been completed for your student.

PreK-4th grade students

For multiple student enrollment, or for students enrolling in PK-4, please email districtenrollment@forneyisd.net  with your complete name and contact information and an enrollment clerk will reach out to you. To schedule an appointment for assistance, please call 469-762-4165. Enrollment clerks are available by appointment at FISD Admin Annex 701 S. Bois d’ Arc Forney Texas 75126.

5th-12th grade students

For students in 5th-12th grade, please contact your campus office to schedule an appointment date and time to complete these forms at the campus.   Click the here for a list of campuses.

If you are enrolling your child for Pre-K, please do not submit a Skyward application until you are notified that your child has qualified for PreK. Click here to fill out the PreK application.

• A student must be five years of age or older on or before September 1 of the school year to attend Kindergarten. 
• A child may be enrolled in the first grade if he or she is at least six years of age at the beginning of the current school year or has been enrolled in the first grade, or completed kindergarten, in the public schools of another state prior to transferring to the District or must qualify under other special provisions of the law.
• If a student wants to enter first grade prior to their 6th birthday, they may take the kindergarten acceleration test to see if they may be placed in the first grade. This test is administered in the spring for young people who already reside in the district and are seeking a placement for the upcoming school year. 
• If a student moves into the district in the summer or early fall, they may enter kindergarten and then take the test in the fall and be placed into the first grade accordingly based on the outcome of the test. 

Online enrollment for kindergarten students who will be new to Forney ISD for the 2025-2026 school year is open.  Within the online application, you will have the opportunity to upload the required enrollment documents. Pease upload the required documents to the online application to process your enrollment efficiently. 

• An enrollment clerk will contact you to confirm and/or request additional documents and finalize your student's enrollment.  

• Texas state law requires a child to be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1 to be eligible to enroll in kindergarten.  

• Pre-K students currently enrolled and attending the Early Childhood Center do not need to re-enroll for kindergarten.

2025-2026 Kinder - 12th Grade reverification - Now open!

Online reverification applications are now open for students of all grade levels. To begin the enrollment application process for your student, create an account in Avela. For returning students, the parent/guardian listed as Parent 1/Family 1 for 2024-2025 will be the email/phone number used to login to Avela and complete the reverification process. If the primary parent/guardian needs to be updated for 2025-2026, please contact PEIMS or the campus to update in Skyward before starting the reverification process.

• Choose Sign up with Avela and use the phone number or email listed in Skyward. You will see an alert in Avela if you are not in your official account.
• Information on the form should auto-populate from last year to verify.

• Guardians reverifying students should have one of the following in their name: 

  • current mortgage statement, or
  • a current electric, or
  • gas or water bill, or
  • a settlement/disclosure statement, or a full current lease.

Students in grades 5th-12th are asked to pay a $30 Technology Usage Fee each year.  Parents must log into their parent Skyward account to pay the fee for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Please contact your child's campus if you have any questions or issues during reverification.

Registration/Residency Verification must be completed NO LATER THAN AUGUST. Failure to complete reverification may result in a delay in class schedule distribution. 

Important Note: If you have moved within the district and the address is different that what is currently listed in Skyward, please contact your students' current campus and provide them with your new proof of residence. The PEIMS Clerk or registrar will make the address change in Skyward and any campus change, if applicable. Acceptable documents for proof of residence include:

• Closing Statement or Mortgage Statement
• Current Lease and Current Utility Bill
• Drivers License with New Address

The document should be scanned and uploaded in the 'Required Documents' section of the Skyward registration online form.
