You may register for Week 1, Week 2, or both weeks—giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your schedule and budget.

Forcast learning Agenda

Keynote Speaker: Clay Smith (May 26, 9-10am)

Clay is a self-taught developer and AI enthusiast. He is currently a Solutions Engineer for Google, where he supports K-12 school districts. He previously worked for the New York City Department of Education as the Deputy Director of Instruction Technology Development, where he supported the development and adoption of Google Workspace. Before that, Clay helped schools improve their digital accessibility, also known as A11y. His career in education began with teaching Computer Science in Queens and coordinating drama and technical theater at LaGuardia High School, the school that inspired the movie "Fame." This followed a successful career as a talent agent. Ultimately, Clay is passionate about using programmatic solutions to solve efficiency problems in education at scale.

1. What is the Forcast Learning Conference?

A professional learning experience for educators at all levels, from all districts held at The Opportunity Central in Forney, Texas.

2. Who should attend the Forcast Learning Conference?

PreK through 12th grade educators - teachers, principals, assistant principals, district administrators, campus administrators, counselors, library and media specialists, learning specialists, etc.

3. What time does the conference sessions start and end each day?

Conference sessions start at 8:30 am and end by 4 pm. Staggered lunch breaks are scheduled by each participant.

4. Does your business or organization need to purchase more than 10 tickets?

We have options for you. Please email Shelby Denman at sndenman@forneyisd.net.

5. How will the sessions run?

Each participant will be able to pre-select the sessions that interest them making each day a tailored experience. Sessions are available on a first-come, first-served basis and are subject to room capacity. Each day will start at 8:30 am and most sessions end at 4 pm.

6. Is this just for FISD only?

This conference is open to all educators and all school districts. Space is limited. We anticipate the conference to sell-out.

7. What to wear?

We suggest you wear business-casual attire with a jacket or sweater in case the rooms get cold.

8. What food and drink options are available?

The OC has multiple eateries to purchase food and drinks. Review options at www.theOC.net/dine.

9. What is the refund policy?

Participant refunds may be issued 30 days prior to the conference start, minus a $50 service fee.

Why Forcast?

Forcast is Forney ISD’s initiative designed to future-proof education through innovation, collaboration, and community engagement. Rooted in the district’s mission to inspire learners through innovation, Forcast serves as a visionary umbrella brand for transformative programs—including professional learning conferences, networking communities, podcasts, and districtwide innovation efforts.

The name Forcast is a deliberate play on the word forecast, symbolizing the district’s forward-looking commitment to anticipating the needs of tomorrow’s learners. At the same time, the "FOR" is a proud nod to Forney ISD, signifying that this movement originates locally—but is designed to scale nationally.
