Forney High School Wind Ensemble to Perform at Midwest Clinic and Convention
Graysen Reid

The Forney High School Wind Ensemble has been invited to perform at the 79th Annual Midwest Clinic and Convention, set to take place in Chicago in December 2025. This Midwest Clinic began in 1946, and annually draws over 18,000 attendees, 400 exhibitors, and features 50 performances along with more than 100 educational clinics. Participants from all 50 states and over 30 countries contribute to the unique and diverse experiences the convention offers.

The ensemble earned this distinction by submitting two professional recordings along with a detailed application. Out of hundreds of applicants, only five high school ensembles worldwide were selected.

This accomplishment builds on a legacy of excellence established by previous Forney Band generations, which includes accolades such as consecutive appearances in the 5A State Marching Championship Finals, invitations to PASIC and the Midwest Percussion Ensemble, and a first appearance in the 6A State Marching Championship.

The Forney High School Wind Ensemble's selection reflects the efforts of its students, administrators, teachers, parents, and directors across Forney ISD. This performance offers a unique opportunity for the ensemble and demonstrates Forney's ongoing support for the arts.

"This invitation to the Midwest Clinic is a remarkable accomplishment," said Mario Luna, Forney ISD Director of Fine Arts. "It highlights the dedication to artistic excellence that defines our community and the outstanding achievements of our students and staff."
