Lauren Blackard

Forney Independent School District is proud to celebrate the incredible success of its high school dance teams at NDA 2026, where students represented the district with professionalism, determination, passion, dedication, and exceptional talent on the national stage.

Nine schools from Texas competed at NDA 2026. Only three Texas teams earned the title of National Champion and two of those three teams were from Forney ISD, marking an incredible achievement for the district.

Across the competition, Forney ISD dance teams performed eight routines. Of those performances, seven advanced to finals, and seven secured Top 10 national placements in their respective categories.

Five years ago, Forney ISD’s dance program established a clear vision: earn Top 10 placements and secure National Champion titles at NDA. Forney High School Dance has consistently achieved top honors at this event over the past five years, building a culture of excellence and high expectations. Last year, North Forney High School Dance set a goal to compete at NDA in 2026. Through discipline, countless hours of practice, and unwavering commitment, the team not only met that goal but exceeded expectations.

“It was an honor to compete alongside such incredible dancers. We are so blessed to win a title in our first year. This team worked unbelievably hard and deserves all the flowers!” said Paris Newton, Head Director of the North Forney Sapphire Stutters.

“This process is not for the faint of heart. You have to have grit and be determined to be better daily. You have to be willing to try new things and work until you get each 8 count just right. This chapter of our journey is done, but our story is not over yet. Until next time. Ears up and Fear the Rabbits!” said Stacie Weisberg, Director of the Forney Highsteppers.

Forney ISD extends its sincere appreciation to the outstanding dance directors who continuously motivate, challenge, and believe in their students. Their leadership plays a vital role in shaping both the competitive success and personal growth of each dancer.

These achievements highlight the strength of Forney ISD’s fine arts programs and the remarkable dedication of students and staff who continue to make the district shine on a national level.
