Forney ISD Families, Students and Staff Donate more than 5,400 Items to the Forney Food Pantry
Forney ISD students, staff, teachers and families donated over 5,400 items during the 2024 Forney ISD Pack the Pantry Food Drive to benefit the Forney Food Pantry.
The Forney ISD Pack the Pantry Food Drive began on Monday, October 21 and ran through Friday, November 1 at every school and the District’s central administration building. Students, teachers and staff members donated cans of food as well as other items throughout the drive. On Friday, November 8, cadets in the Forney ISD Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) visited every school in the District and loaded the donations on a truck and then delivered them to the Forney Food Pantry. When all the donations were counted, students and staff donated a total of 5,405 items that were delivered to the food pantry.
Forney ISD schools compete with each other to donate the most items to the food pantry. The winning campus receives the Pack the Pantry trophy. Wilson Elementary School won the elementary competition with over 1,300 items donated and Jackson Middle School won the secondary competition with over 800 items donated.
