In partnership with the Texas Education Agency, Forney ISD received the Stronger Connections grant valued at $1.45 million. The District partnered with the Forney Education Foundation to apply for the grant which will provide funds for multiple campuses during the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school years.
The Stronger Connections Grant aims to reshape the educational landscape by fostering safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environments. These efforts are projected to result in a comprehensive enhancement of academic achievement, as well as improvements in the mental health, behavioral and emotional health, and physical health and well-being of students.
This grant will empower Forney ISD to implement innovative strategies, initiatives, and programs that go beyond conventional educational practices. By addressing the holistic needs of students, the district aspires to create an environment that nurtures not only academic success but also the overall health and well-being of each student.
"This grant aligns perfectly with our commitment to providing a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience for every student. We are excited about the positive impact this funding will have on reshaping the way we address the diverse needs of our students," said Dr. Justin Terry.
The grant funds will be strategically allocated to promote systemic change, including professional development, technology integration, and community engagement programs. This includes providing training and classes for parents to support safe and healthy development practices. By fostering collaboration and innovation, Forney ISD aims to set a new standard for student support and success.
