Forney ISD is proud to celebrate several students for their outstanding academic achievements recognized through national programs and honors.

The National Recognition Programs celebrate exceptional students in rural areas, first-generation college students, and those receiving unique school recognitions. To qualify, students must hold a GPA of 3.5 or higher and either rank within the top 10% of PSAT/NMSQT or PSAT 10 test takers in their state, or earn scores of 3 or higher on two or more AP Exams. These programs honor students who may be overlooked in the college recruitment process but have demonstrated remarkable academic ability. Congratulations to the outstanding students from Forney High School and North Forney High School who earned this recognition.

Each fall, the AP Program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional achievement on multiple AP Exams. AP Scholars earn scores of 3 or higher on three or more exams, AP Scholars with Honor maintain an average score of at least 3.25 on all exams, and AP Scholars with Distinction achieve an average score of at least 3.5 on five or more exams. This distinction places them among the top 10% of AP students worldwide. Congratulations to the AP Scholars from both North Forney and Forney High School for this impressive accomplishment.

Additionally, Vance Waldron has been named a National Merit Commended Scholar, a prestigious recognition awarded to students who demonstrate exceptional academic excellence on the PSAT/NMSQT. This honor places him among the top 2% of high school seniors nationwide. We are incredibly proud of Vance’s hard work, dedication, and bright future ahead.
