Forney Lions Club and Forney ISD Partner with Community to fill 1,000 Angel Tree Wishes
For many years, the Forney Lions Club and Forney ISD have partnered together to create an Angel Tree to fulfill the wishes of local children. This year, with the help of our local churches, adopters, and volunteers, almost 1,000 Angel Tree children were given gifts through the program.
Forney ISD staff, community partners, and numerous student organizations including, REACH’s Gift of Hope, c|Life Church, Family Cathedral Church, FreeLife Church, Mustang Creek Community Church, Johnson PTO, Rhodes PTO, North Forney Girls Athletics, North Forney Softball, North Forney Band, North Forney Honor Society, Warren Girls Athletics, Luminant, and Primrose School helped fulfill every single wish received.
The Forney Lions Club were honored at the January School Board Meeting for their continued service to our students and community. Lions Lee Arden, Brendan Hirschmann, Steve Hawthorne, Sonya Bannister, Don Orman, Julia Johnson, Mary Baker, Krish Kusman, Mark Madrid, Roland Tyler, and Gregg Suttle were invited to attend the meeting and accept the award for their work with the Angel Tree program.
A big thank you to the North Forney Girls softball team who volunteered to help receive donations and hand out angel gifts over multiple days.
Thank you to everyone who adopted an Angel! Your contributions helped bring a smile to hundreds of children at Christmas through our Forney Family partnerships.
