North Forney Student Artwork on Display at Governor’s Business Office
A student from North Forney High School will have her artwork displayed in the Governor’s Business Office for one year beginning in the spring.
Evelyn Acosta’s artwork was selected for the Texas Art Education Association Youth Art Month(YAM) Spring Exhibition. Her piece, "Created Chaos", was chosen from hundreds of student applicants from across the State of Texas. Only 100 of the applicants are selected to have their artwork shown at the Bullock Museum in Austin, TX.
In addition, each year the Office of the First Lady of Texas selects a group of artworks from the Youth Art Month Spring Exhibition to be showcased in the Governor's Business Office for one year. This year, 16 pieces will be displayed in both Mrs. Abbott and Governor Abbott's offices. The artworks are framed by TAEA, and student artists, families and teachers are invited to a private reception in their honor.
The celebration for the 2024 Governor's Gallery recipients will be held at the end of the 2024 school year.
