- For the Academy Information Night, do I need to go to multiple sessions to learn about each Academy?
- Do current AAFAA, Fine Arts, Virtual Academy, or Dual Language Academy students need to attend the information nights?
- When should we apply? What are the application requirements? How does a student qualify? What kind of test will be given for entrance?
- What are the expectations once my student is in an Academy?
- When will we know if our student is accepted into an Academy?

- Will there be an 8th grade for Academies at the OC?
- How do students in the OC Academies get lunch?
- How will swim and golf students practice?
- Is there transportation offered for Academies at the OC? Will students in the OC Academies be bussed over from their home campus?
- For the Academies at the OC, will my student get to participate in athletics and fine arts or afterschool opportunities at their home-zoned campus?
- How will the kids be transported/escorted to the pool from the OC?
- In order to apply for swim academy, the student must first be enrolled at the OC as their main campus. Correct?
- Will swim academy count as the grade level P.E. requirement?
- Will the Academies at the OC core curriculum be advanced, and will it qualify students for all AP courses offered in middle and high school?
- If my child is currently in GT will those services be offered at the Academies at the OC?
- How will the day look for a student in an academy at the OC? Are all of the academy students together for core classes?
- Will the Entrepreneurship & Global Leadership Academy extend into high school?
- Will the OC academy students be in the same hallways and common areas with the high schoolers that currently use the OC?

AAFAA & Fine Arts FAQs
- For the Fine Arts Academy at 5th-6th grade, will advanced academics still be offered?
- With AAFAA for K-4th and Fine Arts Academy for 5th-6th, will my 5th-8th grader be able to continue advanced courses and fine arts classes?
- Will 5th-6th Fine Arts students at Rhea and Smith remain with their pods for core classes?
- With the Fine Arts Academy for 5th and 6th grade at Smith and expanding to Rhea, how will students be assigned? If my child attended the Fine Arts Academy for 5th grade at Smith, may they stay for 6th grade in 2025-2026?
- If my student is a current student in the Fine Arts Program at Smith, do they need to apply for the Theatre Academy at the OC or may they transfer?
- Is there transportation offered for AAFAA and the Fine Arts Academy?
- The current 5th and 6th grade fine arts program at Smith has theatre, dance, music and visual arts. Will theatre be moved to the Academies at the OC?
- Can they join the Intermediate fine art academy even though they are not at Blackburn AAFAA?
- Will Humanities be offered at the Academies?
