2024-2025 Testing Calendar

For 1st-8th Grade Level Acceleration & 6th-HS Course Acceleration

Please reach out to your student’s counselor to request an application for credit-by exam or exam for acceleration. You may test during any window, but acceleration will only happen at the beginning of a new school year. All tests required for grade level or course credit must be completed and scores returned before the beginning of the new school year for acceleration to occur. 

(1) Students may test during any testing window, BUT a student’s placement in a new course or grade level will only occur at the start of the new school year AND all subjects (grade level acceleration) or semesters (course acceleration) must be completed prior to the beginning of the school year. If all tests are not completed by the first day of school, the student will remain in the appropriately sequenced grade level or course. 

(2) Students testing in the 2025 C window for the first time may not have time to complete all required testing to be placed in a new course or grade level for the 2025-2026 school year. 

(^) Students new to Forney ISD, who enroll after May 22, 2024, will need to contact their campus about an application and testing details while counselors are on contract to determine the availability of testing opportunities for exams for acceleration prior to the start of the new school year.
