Student Technology Fees

Students are required to pay an annual technology fee at the beginning of each school year.  The fee is $30 and covers usage of a district chromebook and charger, and provides a basic insurance coverage for accidental damage.  

Payment can be made online in the student’s Skyward account or at your student’s campus in the front office, by cash or check. 

Failure to pay this fee by the due date will result in your student’s account being placed in the Education-Only web filter until payment has been made. Once payment is received it may take up to 48 hours for their account to be released from Education-Only.

What does Education-Only filter?

Students will still have access to Canvas, Skyward, and any other pre-approved educational websites. They will be blocked from anything outside of these FISD approved applications.  For a more complete understanding of Education-Only filtering, please reach out to your student’s campus.
