2021-2022 Attendance Zone Information
On Monday, December 7, 2020, Forney ISD Board of Trustees approved the 2021-2022 attendance zone modifications.
The attendance zone modification plan was presented at the Forney ISD Board of Trustees meeting on Monday evening, Nov. 2. Two virtual information sessions were held Nov. 5 and 10, and a public hearing on Nov. 17. The board approved the final attendance zone modifications on Dec. 7.
The district has three separate zoning maps that are independent of each other: (1) elementary, (2) intermediate and middle, and (3) high school. High School attendance zone boundaries will not change.
All current 8th-12th grade students will remain in their current feeder patterns, and will not be impacted by the proposed attendance zone modification. The new zone for Griffin Elementary K-4 will consist of only areas currently in the Crosby and Blackburn zones. All other K-4 elementary zones will remain unchanged for the 2021-2022 school year.
The plan with maps and a list by subdivision is available on the Forney ISD website: www.forneyisd.net/attendancezones

As always, special programs, such as Pre-K and ESCE, are evaluated annually and location is based on enrollment and capacity. Dual language for Kindergarten-4th grade will remain at Criswell, and the Advanced Academics and Fine Arts Academy, currently composed of 1st and 2nd grade students, will remain at Blackburn for fall 2021.
The district also considered intradistrict transfer applications for current (2020-2021) 7th grade students who wished to remain at their current middle school campus for the 2021-2022 school year. Those students would have otherwise been moved to another middle school campus due to the adopted attendance zone modification. Those transfer applications had to be be received by February 1, 2021 to be considered. Please note that approval of intradistrict transfers are dependent on available capacity at the requested campus. No transportation is provided for intradistrict transfers. If approved, the transfer would be available for one year only and students will return to their residing attendance zone feeder pattern for the following year.
