Forney High School Student Receives Scholarship from AFJROTC
AFJROTC Cadet Blane Duplissey has been named a J-100 Character-in-Leadership Scholar by the Air Force Junior ROTC. The scholarship, which launched in 2021, provides 100 cadets with four years of 100% paid tuition at any university, or crosstown partner, with an AFROTC attachment.

Last June, Governor Abbott worked with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and the Texas School Safety Center (TxSSC) to create a set of actions to improve safety at all Texas public schools. Forney Senior Soars at Flight Academy
At the end of last school year, Forney High School senior Blane Duplissey found his summer plans up in the air…literally. For eight weeks this summer, Duplissey participated in the United States Air Force’s Flight Academy program where he earned his private pilot’s license and college credit.

Anonymous Alerts Available for Students, Parents, and Community
The Anonymous Alerts anti-bullying and safety app reporting system helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between submitters (students, parents, or community members) and district administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.

Forney High School Percussion Ensemble to Perform at PASIC
The Forney High School Percussion Ensemble was chosen as a winner of the International Percussion Ensemble Contest in June. As part of this prestigious honor, the ensemble is one of only three high schools to be invited to perform a showcase concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, the single largest percussion event in the world.

Forney ISD is prepared to open campuses for the 2022-23 school year tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 11. As with every school year, the district encourages the community to anticipate travel delays. After the first few weeks, routines are established, carpools are arranged, bus students are registered, and the traffic flow improves.

Forney ISD Names 4 New Facilities: Elementaries #10 & #11, Intermediate #4, Middle School #4
As one of the fastest growing school districts in Texas, Forney ISD is preparing to open several new campuses over the next few years. The community submitted nominations for facility names during June, and the board of trustees tasked a community facilities naming committee with reviewing and forming a recommendation.
