Forney High School Percussion Ensemble to Perform at PASIC

PASIC

The Forney High School Percussion Ensemble was chosen as a winner of the International Percussion Ensemble Contest in June. As part of this prestigious honor, the ensemble is one of only three high schools to be invited to perform a showcase concert at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention, the single largest percussion event in the world.

“There is no greater accomplishment for a high school percussion ensemble than to be invited to perform a showcase concert at PASIC. This honor is a result of our student’s relentless dedication to their craft and their daily pursuit of the highest standard of musical excellence,” Assistant Band Director Riley Warren said. “We look forward to preparing a program that will highlight the incredibly talented members of Forney High School Percussion, and to representing the Fine Arts programs of Forney ISD on the international stage. None of this would have been possible without our outstanding band parents, the exceptionally supportive Forney ISD campus and district administration, and the Forney Family community that invests so much in all of our students. Thank you to all!”

PASIC is attended annually by more than five thousand people, making it the largest drum and percussion convention in the world. The event is scheduled to take place November 9th-12th at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

“We’re so proud of our fine arts programs. It is a prestigious honor to be invited to perform at PASIC,” Director of Fine Arts Mario Luna said. “We know our students will represent our Forney Family well.”
