Anonymous Alerts Available for Students, Parents, and Community

The Anonymous Alerts anti-bullying and safety app reporting system helps combat bullying and other negative activity in schools by empowering students to speak up. The system allows for 1-way or 2-way anonymous encrypted communications between submitters (students, parents, or community members) and district administration and/or school staff. Users of the system have the option to remain anonymous or reveal their identity when submitting a report.

Every report made, either verbally or emailed to a staff member or through Anonymous Alerts, is taken seriously and investigated. Students, parents, community, local law enforcement, and district staff form a powerful alliance in keeping everyone safe. Forney ISD asks students and parents to say something as soon as possible if they hear or see a message that would create concern.

We also believe that the best way to address problems that our students face in school is personal contact with a teacher, school administrator, psychologist, or counselor and we strongly encourage and fully support that continued practice. However, we do know that sometimes there is a concern that a student or parent may want to communicate anonymously.

“Anonymous Alerts has proven to be a great resource for students to anonymously report concerning behaviors from their peers, including talk or posts on suicide or self-harm, dating violence, and other threatening behaviors. Counselors are notified of the report and can follow up with the student immediately or the next school day if the alert was done after school hours,” said Tina Spain, Forney ISD Director of Guidance and Counseling. “Anonymous Alerts provides a net for students that haven't made an outcry to a trusted adult, which then allows for identification and intervention before they hurt themselves or others.”

There are several ways to use Anonymous Alerts:

  1. Download the app and use directly from your phone.
  2. Download the Forney ISD app and click the Anonymous Alerts icon.
  3. Visit www.forneyisd.net and click the Anonymous Alerts button.
  4. Go directly to report.anonymousalerts.com/forneyisd and submit a report.

Students can access this link directly from their Chromebook by clicking on it in their district web bookmarks.

The app will be actively monitored on school days from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. In an emergency, always call 9-1-1!

Informational posters explaining how to use the app will be displayed throughout schools and offices in the district. Anti-Bullying resources are also available on our website.
