NFHS Varsity & JV Cheer Bring Home Awards

Varsity Cheer The Varsity & JV Cheerleaders and Mascots from North Forney High School recently attended summer camp and came home with a number of awards and accomplishments. 
 
The Varsity Cheerleaders attended a NCA camp at the Gaylord Texan hotel, June 26-29, 2019. While at camp the team received all blue superior ribbons on their evaluations, of which was a near perfect score for band dance receiving 59.5 out of 60 possible points.  The team also earned a spirit stick, was voted as the Herkie Team 2 nights by other teams at camp, recieved a Stunt SAFE Certification, a National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS) Credentialing, a Technical Excellence award for motions, and a bid to attend NCA's National Competition. On the final day's Top Team competition, the team placed 2nd in Band Dance and was named the Top Team for Cheer. Team members were also awarded individual awards including 13 out of 16 members being nominated for All-American: Marcy Allen (Head Cheerleader), Megan Carroll (Co-Head Cheerleader), Alyssa Hood (Spirit Captain), Kelsie Brand, Keeley Jordan, Beyoncé McKinnon, Brooke Miller, Joslyn Munoz, Jordan Oliver, Rose Ribera, Kammy Thompson, Taylor Williams, and Chloe Wilson. Head Cheerleader, Marcy Allen was named to the All-American Team and Co-Head Cheerleader, Megan Carroll was awarded a special leadership pin. 
 
JV and Mascots The JV Cheerleaders attended a NCA camp at Tarleton State University, June 3 -6, 2019. While at camp the team received all blue superior ribbons on their evaluations, earned a spirit stick, recieved a Stunt SAFE Certification, a National Federation of State High School Association (NFHS) Credentialing, a Technical Excellence award for motions, and a bid to attend NCA's National Competition. On the final day's Top Team compettion, the team placed 2nd in both Cheer and Chant, losing chant by only a 1/2 point. Team members were also awarded individual awards including 6 of 13 members being nominated for All-American: Jordin Cwiakala (Head Cheerleader), Alyssa Picazzo (Co-Head Cheerleader), Cristen Miller, Alyssa Bard, Cori Smith, and Skye Smith.  Co-Head Cheerleader Alyssa P was awarded a special leadership pin. 
 
The Varsity and JV Mascots attended a NCA Mascot camp at Tarleton State University, June 3-6, 2019. While at camp both recieved a number of individual awards.  Frankie the Falcon, the Varsity Mascot, Kaden Klingelberger was named to the All-American Mascot Team, recieved all blue ribbons on evaluations, and a Special Award for being the Most Creative Mascot.  Freddie the Falcon, our JV Mascot, Lucas Tarno was also named to the All-American Mascot Team, recieved all blue ribbons on evaluations, nad a Special Award for bing the best Prop Artist at camp. Frankie and Freddie
