Forney High School Percussion Ensemble Receives Invitation to perform at Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference
The Forney High School Percussion Ensemble recently received an invitation to perform at The 77th Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference, held annually in December at McCormick Place in Chicago, IL. The Midwest Clinic is the largest band and orchestra conference in the United States.
“This accomplishment is an incredible honor for the students of Forney Percussion, and is a testament to their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence in music. This achievement would not be possible without the unwavering support of our parents, the Forney community, and the amazing campus and district administrators of Forney ISD,” said Riley Warren, Director of the Forney Percussion Ensemble. “We could not be more thrilled for our students to perform once again on the international stage. We look forward to representing Forney ISD in Chicago this December.”
This marks the second straight year the ensemble has been invited to perform at an international music conference, having performed at PASIC (Percussive Arts Society International Convention) in November of 2022. The upcoming Midwest Clinic will feature over 50 performances by the world's best ensembles and over 100 educational clinics from industry-leading educators throughout the 3-day event. The Forney High School Percussion Ensemble will perform a showcase concert on Friday, December 22nd, featuring brand new pieces as well as known classics of the percussion ensemble medium to an audience of composers, college professors and students, industry professionals, high school and middle school band directors, and music lovers from around the world.
