College and Career Readiness

Forney ISD is excited to announce that in addition to our new partnership with Texas Tech University and being able to provide Bachelor Degrees for our students and community, we are proud to announce a few other amazing opportunities that will be provided for our FISD students beginning this school year!

During this school year, 2019-2020, with the new HB3 legislature, high school students will be able to:

  • Earn Industry Certification Exam Reimbursement (for all students)
  • Take the ACT Exam during the School Day (At no cost to parents/students for 11th & 12th graders)

Currently, any FISD high school student has the opportunity to earn an Associate Degree during their high school career through Dual Credit courses and the district’s partnership with Eastfield College. Beginning in the 2020-2021 school year, FISD will begin the 1st cohort of Collegiate Academy students with current 8th grade students. The Collegiate Academy will provide a pathway for students to earn their Associate Degree with the added benefit of being with a cohort of students, taking the same CORE courses for all 4 years of their high school career.

Industry Certification Reimbursement for Forney ISD Students

Forney ISD is excited to announce that beginning this school year, 2019-2020, all students that pass an industry certification exam will be reimbursed 100% of the exam fee.  Students will be able to receive one industry certification reimbursement during their HS career.

Grade Level:

Any high school student

Payment:

Students will pay for their industry certification exam through revtrak, each practicum/advanced course will provide students/parents with the cost of the exam, as well as, the industry certification exam students will be taking. 

Reimbursement:

All students that pass their industry certification exam will be reimbursed 100% of the exam fee that was paid through revtrak. Reimbursements will be completed and processed within 7 business days of receiving industry certification exam scores. Most industry certification exams scores are provided immediately or within a week of taking the exam.

ACT exam during the School Day

Forney ISD is excited to announce that during the 2019-2020 school year, 11th and 12th grade students will take the ACT exam in Spring 2020 during the school day at no cost to parents/students

Grade Level:

11th & 12th grade students

Information:

11th and 12th grade students will be taking the ACT exam during the day March 24th, 2020.  More information will be provided through the high school campuses during the Spring semester.

Collegiate Academy

January 14 - Collegiate Academy Informational Meeting @ BMS 6:30pm - 7:30pm

January 20 - Collegiate Academy Informational Meeting @ WMS 6:30pm - 7:30pm 

February 4 - Focus Night @ FHS 6:00pm - 9:00pm (Collegiate Academy Informational Breakout Sessions will be held during this event)
