Forney ISD Dual Language Students Win Spelling Bee Competition
Forney ISD recently held the Annual Dual Language Spelling Bee on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021 and announced winners in three different age classifications. The three classifications were 3rd Grade, 4th-5th Grade and 6th Grade.
The Dual Language Spelling Bee winner for the 3rd Grade competition was Gracie Johnson. Jayden Lewis captured 2nd place in the 3rd Grade competition.
Danika Escajeda won the 4th-5th Grade competition and Claudia Rodriguez took second place.
In the 6th Grade competition, Paola Ibarra won first place and Lucy Rodriguez won second place.
All of the first place winners advance on to the Regional Competition which will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the Forney ISD Central Administration Building.

The Dual Language teachers include Raquel Ortiz, (3rd Grade), Sonia Solero (4th-5th Grade), and Quetzady Garcia, (6th Grade). The Director of the Forney ISD Dual Language Program is Enrique Jolay.
Forney ISD's elementary Dual Language Program is located at Criswell Elementary under Principal Rachel Bonner. The Dual Language Programs at the intermediate level are held at both Rhea Intermediate, (Principal Dr. Barbi Donahoo) and at Smith Intermediate, (Principal Courtney Rodriguez).
