Forney ISD announces staff transitions and new hires for the 2021-2022 School Year

“We want to congratulate our Forney Family moving into new positions for next year, and welcome some new leaders to our district,” said Forney ISD Superintendent Dr. Justin Terry. “They each have a heart for doing what’s best for our students, and we are excited they are a part of our Forney Family.”

Jackson Middle School

The district’s new middle school, Jackson Middle School will open in August of 2021. The school will be led by principal Molly Purl who joined Forney ISD from Mesquite ISD in 2020. Joining Purl in administration at Jackson Middle School will be Tiffany Alexander and Stacey Wetzel who will both serve as assistant principals.

Alexander Alexander is currently a learning specialist with Forney ISD. She has more than 13 years of experience in education as an English, Language Arts and Reading (ELAR) teacher, a curriculum writer, coach, academic specialist and learning specialist. She has been a learning specialist with Forney ISD for two years.

 

Wetzel Wetzel has been with Forney ISD for all nine years of her career in education. She has served the district as a 7th and 8th grade Science and ELAR Inclusion and ELAR Resource teacher at Warren Middle School for eight years. She was the Special Education Department Chair for five years. Prior to joining Jackson MIddle School, Wetzel was the Dean of Students and an Administrative Intern at Forney High School for one year.

 

 

Rhodes Intermediate School

Brenda Lopez will be the new principal at Rhodes Intermediate School when the school opens its doors to students in the fall of 2021. Joining Lopez as assistant principals at Rhodes Intermediate School will be Trey Lancaster and Karen Howard. Anna Aguilar will also join the Rhodes Intermediate School administrative team as the Dean of Students. Lancaster returns to Forney ISD from Terrell ISD where he is an Assistant Principal at Long Elementary School and Howard is a current teacher in Forney ISD at Lewis Elementary School. Aguilar is currently a teacher at Criswell Elementary School.

Lancaster Lancaster has more than 17 years of experience in teaching including serving as a teacher at Warren Middle School from 2008 to 2012. He has 14 years of experience in the classroom and three years experience as an Assistant Principal. His teaching experience includes being a 3rd grade teacher, 4th grade Writing/Science teacher and a 7th-8th grade English/Pre-Advanced Placement (AP) English teacher. His experience as an Assistant Principal includes serving the Life School Mountain Creek School in Dallas, Texas as an Assistant Principal.

Howard Howard also has more than 17 years of experience in education. She is currently completing her first year as a 3rd grade teacher at Lewis Elementary School. Before joining Lewis, she taught at Burnet Consolidated ISD, Abilene ISD, Frenship ISD and Lubbock ISD. Her teaching experience includes being a 3rd grade teacher, a 2nd grade teacher and a 5th grade Science teacher.

 

Aguiliar Aguilar has spent her entire 15 years in education in Forney ISD. She began her career in Forney ISD as a 5th grade math teacher at Blackburn Elementary School before joining Brown Middle School as a 7th grade math and Pre-AP teacher. She has taught math at Criswell ELementary School to both 4th and 5th grade students for the past nine years.

 

 

Griffin Elementary

Griffin Elementary will be the newest elementary school in Forney ISD when the school opens in the fall of 2021 under the direction of Principal Kristie Crabtree. Joining Crabtree at the school will be Assistant Principal Neely Kneggs.

Kneggs Kneggs brings 18 years of experience in education to Griffin Elementary School with eight of those years in Forney ISD. She has served as a Special Education teacher, a 6th-grade math and science teacher, reading interventionist and an instructional coach.

 

 

 

There will be a number of new administrators at existing schools in Forney ISD with the start of the 2021-2022 school year as well.

High Schools

Both Forney High School and North Forney High School will have new assistant principals at the start of the new school year. Te’Nesha Jackson will join Forney High School as a new Assistant Principal and Floyd Webb will join North Forney High School as a new Assistant Principal.

Jackson Jackson comes to Forney ISD from Dallas ISD. She has spent the past 13 years years working in the field of education in various roles including as a 7th-12th grade English teacher, a K-12 Assistant Principal and as a Principal-in-Residence. Mrs. Jackson has a proven track record of providing high quality instruction, professional development and coaching for school leaders and leadership teams.

 

 

webb Webb has more than 10 years of experience in education including being a business and physical education teacher, a coach and an Assistant Principal in Dallas ISD. Prior to working in kindergarten through 12th grade education, Webb spent 13 years working as a director of multicultural and assistant football coach at the collegiate level.

 

 

 

Warren Middle School

Warren Middle School will also have a new assistant principal at the start of the 2021-2022 school year. Dr. Vashunda Warren, currently an assistant principal at Smith Intermediate School in Forney ISD will join the staff at Warren Middle School as an assistant principal.

Warren Dr. Warren began her 23-year career in education as a high school biology teacher. She has served Smith Intermediate School as an Assistant Principal for the past three years. Prior to joining Forney, she managed the teacher professional development and campus partnerships department at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science. She has also served as an instructional facilitator, adjunct college professor, and middle school science teacher. 

 

 

Smith Intermediate School

Marshall Replacing Dr. Warren at Smith Intermediate School as an Assistant Principal will be Felicia Marshall. Marshall has 21 years of experience serving in education. She has been a 4th-6th grade teacher, a campus based instructional coach and has worked in central administration as an academic facilitator instructional lead coach in Dallas ISD. She is currently a learning specialist with Forney ISD. 

 

 

Elementary Schools

Several elementary schools will also have new administrators on campuses when they open in August of 2021.

Crosby Elementary School will have a new Assistant Principal and a new Dean of Students. Ashley Long will join Crosby as the new Assistant Principal and Alanna Jefferson will be the school’s new Dean of Students.

Long Long comes to Forney ISD from Garland ISD where she has spent her entire 14 year career in education. She has served Garland ISD as an  ELAR Instructional Coach and curriculum writer, a K-5 Reading and Math Interventionist, a 3rd Grade Teacher, a 1st Grade Teacher and most recently an Assistant Principal for the past two years.

 

 

Jefferson Jefferson will move from Blackburn Elementary to Crosby Elementary as the school’s Dean of Students. She has 22 years of experience in education with six of those years in Forney ISD. She spent 16 years as an English as a Second Language (ESL) and ELAR Teacher, two years as a high school Consultant for Intervention and Assessment at Forney High School and two years as a Counselor at the Forney Learning Academy. She has been the Dean of Students at Blackburn Elementary School for the past two years.

 

Hooper Deri Adams-Hooper will be the new Dean of Students at Criswell Elementary School. She's been in education for 40 years, with the last 7 years at Forney ISD as Dean of Students at Smith Elementary/Intermediate. Her past experience extends from teaching to assistant principal and principal to central staff Federal and State Accountability, Texas Education Agency. 

 

 

 

Britton Joining Henderson Elementary School as a new Assistant Principal will be Venus Britton. Britton has 14 years of experience in education and comes to Forney ISD from Rockwall ISD where she taught math and science to 5th and 6th grade students for 10 years before becoming an instructional coach.

 

 

 

alt Danielle Alt, currently the Assistant Principal at Crosby Elementary will be the new Assistant Principal at Lewis Elementary School. Alt has 16 years of experience in education with six of those here in Forney ISD. Prior to being named the Assistant Principal at Crosby, Alt was a 3rd grade teacher, ELAR, learning specialist, a 5th grade social studies teacher, a 3rd grade self-contained teacher and a learning specialist.
