North Forney High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble Wins NTCA Competition, Advances to World Championship
The North Forney High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble recently competed in the North Texas Colorguard Association Championship (NTCA) competition. The NFHS Indoor Percussion won the championship in 2018 and returned to the competition to defend their title.
The NTCA Championship is the culmination of a season of five contests that began in February. North Forney entered the competition in first place through the first five contests. The NFHS Indoor Percussion Ensemble continued to perform at a high level and earned the 1st Place Gold Medal with a score of 91.35. The score reflects the judges’ recognition of an outstanding performance that was both technical and precise.
The NFHS Indoor Percussion Ensemble qualified to compete in the WinterGuard International (WGI) World Championship in Dayton, Ohio. The students will compete in the Preliminary Competition in Dayton on Thursday, April 11 at 6:37 p.m. The live performance can be viewed online at https://www.flomarching.com/live/12759/signup.
