North Forney High School Percussion Ensemble Invited to Participate at the Midwest Clinic

The North Forney High School Percussion Ensemble recently received an invitation to perform at The Midwest Clinic, an international band and orchestra conference. The Midwest Clinic is scheduled to be held Dec. 16 through Dec. 19 in Chicago, Illinois. The conference is the largest band and orchestra conference in the United States.

“Even in these uncertain times we are living in, I am confident our students will rise to the challenge and commit to performing at a high level as we take our relentless pursuit of excellence to this national stage,” said Jim Gist, the Director of the North Forney Percussion Ensemble. “We are proud to be North Forney Falcons and I am certain we will represent our school community well in Chicago in December.”

The Midwest Clinic International Band, Orchestra and Music Conference presents top ensembles throughout the conference to showcase the newest ideas and talent. From students to professionals, performers have a chance to exhibit their talents with an interest in furthering music education. Each band and orchestra conference is unique and offers attendees the most up-to-date music styles and education techniques.

The North Forney Percussion Ensemble has performed and competed in several ensemble competitions throughout the school year. The students set a goal in August 2019 to compete at a national level, and they have been committed to the process throughout the school year, led by a strong senior class who are leaving an incredible legacy.
