The Forney ISD Future Farmers of America (FFA) brought their best this week at the Kaufman County Junior Livestock Show. The district had several students compete and bring home multiple accolades for their hard work at and  leading up to the show. 

Competition began Monday with the opening of the Market Rabbit Show in which Kayleigh Sanders, 8th grader at Warren Middle School, showed off her pen of fryers, placing 6th out of 16 pens. Following that, she won first place and Best of Show in the Breeding Rabbit Show with her New Zealand rabbit. Her success continued with her Polish rabbit, Freckles, winning Best Opposite of Breed. Among these victories, she also brought home a 3rd place and 4th place win with her rabbits, Freckles and Prince Snowball. 

The show team continued to be successful this week in the Breeding Lamb Show. Madison Brown, 9th grader at Forney High, Remington Vlasin, 3rd grader at Crosby, Hunter Hewitt, senior at Forney High, and Hannah Hewitt bringing home many 1st place ribbons. 

In the Market Lamb Show, Madison Brown also received 4th place in Class 2 Southdown, 1st place in Class 1 Dorpers, and then reentered the ring to win Grand Champion. She also managed to take home 3rd place in the Class 2 Dorper competition. She was joined in her success at the Market Lamb Show by Phoebe Rios, senior at Forney High, who won 4th place with her Class 1 Dorper.

In the Fine Wool Class, Anley Hewitt, sophomore at Forney High, won 2nd place with her lamb and stepped back in the ring for the Champion Drive to bring home a Reserve Champion win. North Forney FFA member, Taylor O'Neal, came in with a 3rd place win with her Medium Wool lamb in Class 3.
