A little over a month ago, we announced that Forney ISD teachers could reset their students' passwords from within MyFISD. Since then, we've seen teachers quickly adopt this new feature and use it to full effect as part of their classroom management toolkit.
Students who forget their password are able to receive immediate assistance from their teacher(s) without having to leave the classroom. This reduces stress on students who would have previously been unable to participate in classroom activities and reduces instructional downtime due to login issues. With such amazing feedback, we've made the (obvious?) decision to maintain support for this feature in the long-term and have it supplant the Help Desk as the back-up method for student password resets.
Over the next week, we will be updating our support documentation and messaging to direct students to their teachers for all password reset scenarios, and on October 7th (Fall Break) we will be removing the "Student Password Reset" request type from the Help Desk.
